There are plenty of "lounge" worthy events this Halloween weekend. However, we suggest you head on over to these jazz age themed masquerades from our friends Michael Arenella in Brooklyn and Wit's End in Manhattan.

At Brooklyn's most enchanting little speakeasy, the Green Building, a 19th-century warehouse nestled along the banks of the Gowanus Canal, in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

We are pleased to present a hauntingly swell cast of characters for the night's entertainment:

- The Minsky Sisters - world renowned '20s tap duo
- Grace Gotham - burlesque sensation

The 1st Annual Dreamland Beach Party!

On the shore of the East River, Water Taxi Beach boasts acres of real sand and a tented 60x40 wooden dance floor. Add ocean air, live Hot Jazz and the panorama of Manhattan as backdrop, and you have the city's beachiest jazz party ever. Bring your hats, parasols and beach blankets!

Directions:

By Ferry
Shuttle Service to Water Taxi Beach - Long Island City from East 35th Street by the FDR approximately every 15 minutes from 1- 3pm and then from 5 - 5:45pm. The fare will be $5 for a one way ticket.
 

By Car
Travel to Borden and Second Street. At Borden Avenue and Second Street you will see the sign for the New York Water Taxi. We are not in all map and navigation systems. You can find us on Google Maps, by searching for, Water Taxi Beach 54-34 2nd Street, LIC NY 11101.

By Subway
Take the 7 train to Vernon Blvd/Jackson Avenue or the E train to 23rd Street/Ely Avenue. Then, take Vernon Boulevard. directly to Borden Avenue. Next walk past the Water Front Crab House and finally turn RIGHT into our driveway.

Destinations: Feb 27th - Wit's End One Year Anniversary

Loungerati's Best Lounge Event 2009 winners, The Wit's End are celebrating their One Year Anniversary in style and with lots of Champagne. Don Spiro and Diane Naegel are teaming up with the Dorothy Parker Society to host one helluva party at Flute! Here is the Press release:

"Fall in love all over again- it's the one year anniversary of Wit's End! Can you believe this time last year we had our very first soiree? Wit's End and the Dorothy Parker Society are proud to present you with a new year of good friends, good style, and good times!

To start off our second year right, we're bringing back the guys who played at the start of it all: Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators! Gramps will keep you movin' all night and will feature great love songs of the Jazz Age!

7-8pm - Flute Bar will be providing our guests with some FREE hors d'oeuvres at the bar to accompany those cocktails! Come early and make it a full vintage evening out and order dinner from Flute!
